  • Greene Bean, unfortunately, the number you quoted includes the costs of at least two appeals, judge time, and staff, and prosecutors and defense attorney's fees. Actual cost of the execution is guard's pay, Dr.'s pay, and the drugs used. Comes to a few thousand.

  • Democracy cannot survive as a form of government. Once the voting population learns they can vote themselves perks from the national treasury, they will always vote for the candidate who promises the most perks. And the government will collapse on its own fiscal mismanagement.
